Russian born, Nigeria descent German Onugkha has expressed interest in representing Nigeria in international football.
The FC Copenhagen attacker was born to a Nigerian father and Russian mother which made him eligible for both countries
He turned down Russian Football Federation invitation to play in an international friendly in September and insisted that he want to play for Super Eagles.
He further stated that he will be apply for Nigerian passport at the Denmark embassy in October
“I decided to say no Russian call up because I wanted to focus on my next club, my future and therefore, I said that it would be better for me to stay here in Europe.
“By next month, I will try to get a Nigerian passport because my father is from there, so I will go to the embassy here in Copenhagen and see if I can get it, then we will see”, he said.
