FIFA Women Ranking: United States regain top spot as Nigeria stagnant

The newly crowned Olympic champions the United States regained top spot in the latest FIFA women’s rankings released on Friday morning.

The Yankees Ladies defeated their counterpart from Brazil by a lone goal to claim a gold medal while current World Cup holder Spain finished in the 4th position.

According to the ranking, the United States jumped to the first position with 2076.9 points and England placed second while Spain is in 3rd position.

Meanwhile, African most decorated team Super Falcons of Nigeria remained 36th in the ranking with 1621.29 points.

They also remained the best ranked African team with South Africa second in the continent and 50th in the World.
