Haaland scores twice as Man City beat Porto, Real Madrid edge Inter Milan in UCL opener

The 2026/27 UEFA Champions League got underway on Tuesday with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland scoring twice to inspire a victory over FC Porto.

The Norwegian forward found the net in both halves as Manchester City secured a winning start to their European campaign.

In Madrid, Real Madrid also began their Champions League journey with a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan, with Kylian Mbappé and Federico Valverde getting on the scoresheet for the Spanish giants.

Serhou Guirassy was the star for Borussia Dortmund, scoring twice in their 3-2 win over Villarreal. Renato Veiga added Dortmund’s third goal, while Murillo and an own goal from Guirassy accounted for Villarreal’s goals.
