AFCON 2027 Qualifier: Madagascar to host Super Eagles in Morocco

Madagascar will host Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Morocco during the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign.

The Football Federation of Madagascar has opted to stage its home matches in Morocco after stadiums in the country failed to secure approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to host international fixtures.

As a result, the Barea will be forced to play their home fixtures on neutral ground, with Morocco selected as the venue for their clash against the Super Eagles.

Madagascar have been drawn in the same qualifying group as Nigeria, Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles will therefore travel to Morocco for what will officially be Madagascar’s home fixture in the AFCON 2027 qualifying series.

CAF’s stadium approval requirements have continued to affect several African nations whose facilities do not meet the required standards for hosting international matches.
