The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a significant increase in the prize money for the winner of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe revealed that the champions of this year’s tournament in Morocco will receive $2 million, marking a major financial boost for women’s football on the continent.
Motsepe made the announcement on Wednesday during the CAF Global Conference held in Johannesburg, South Africa. He said the increased prize money reflects CAF’s continued commitment to the growth and development of women’s football across Africa.
