Nigeria Professional Football League side Wikki Tourists have confirmed the tragic death of their player, Kabiru Mohammed, following a fatal road accident along the Zaria–Gusau highway.
The club announced the sad news on Thursday, describing the late defender as a committed and dedicated member of the squad throughout the season.
Kabiru Mohammed was a key figure for Wikki Tourists during the campaign, making 26 appearances and playing over 2,200 minutes for the club.
The player’s death has thrown the club and the Nigerian football community into mourning, with tributes pouring in from teammates, fans and football stakeholders.
