Team Nigeria has released its provisional squad for the upcoming Debswana World Athletics Relays Gaborone 2026, scheduled for May 2–3 at the Botswana National Stadium in Gaborone, Botswana.
According to Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) sources, the team initially secured official qualification in only three events: the Mixed 4x100m, Men’s 4x400m, and Women’s 4x400m relays, based on performances at international meets and domestic championships such as the MTN Champs in Calabar.
Notable qualifiers include:
Women’s 4x400m: Patience Okon George, Jecinter Lawrence (Andrew), Anita Enaruna, and Treasure Okereke, who booked their spot at the MTN Champs Relays.
Men’s 4x400m: Samson Nathaniel, Emmanuel Ojeli, Victor Sampson Ime, and Sikiru Adeyemi, who impressed at the Lefika International Relays in Gaborone.
Mixed 4x100m: Maria Omokwe (Thompson Omokwe), Chidera Ezeakor, James T. Emmanuel (Emmanuel James Taiwo), and Jennifer Obi Chukwuka, also confirmed via strong showings in Botswana.
