Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, are set to take on Cape Verde in an international friendly later this month as part of their build-up to the forthcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The nine-time African champions will open camp in Nigeria on April 11, with invited players expected to report for duty as preparations gather momentum for the continental showpiece.

The friendly against Cape Verde comes on the back of the team’s recent two-legged encounter with Cameroon, where the technical crew had the opportunity to assess the squad and fine-tune tactical approaches.

Head coach and his backroom staff are expected to use the upcoming fixture to further evaluate players, build cohesion within the squad, and address key areas ahead of WAFCON.

The Super Falcons remain one of the favourites heading into the tournament and will be aiming to reinforce their dominance on the continent with another strong outing.
