Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, have resumed camping in Abuja as they step up preparations for the final round of qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The camp officially opened on Monday, April 6, with a number of invited players arriving, while full training activities began on Tuesday, April 7.

The technical crew has since commenced intensive sessions focused on fitness, tactical awareness, and team chemistry, as they await the arrival of the remaining players.

Head Coach Moses Aduku, addressing the squad during their first training session, charged the players to stay focused and committed.

He stressed the need for discipline, teamwork, and determination as they gear up for a crucial tie against Malawi.

The players have also expressed confidence and readiness, with the coaching staff working to ensure the team reaches peak form ahead of the encounter.

Malawi secured their place in the final qualifying round after overcoming Guinea-Bissau in the previous stage, setting up a decisive showdown with Nigeria.

The Falconets will host the first leg in Nigeria on Saturday, May 2, before travelling for the return leg in Malawi a week later.

Four African teams will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Poland from September 5 to 26.
