Former Super Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has revealed that he enjoyed the best spell of his professional career during his time with Everton FC.

The powerful forward made the move to the Merseyside club after an impressive stint with Portsmouth FC, where he established himself as one of the most reliable strikers in the English Premier League.

Reflecting on his time at Goodison Park, Yakubu expressed deep affection for the club and its supporters.

“Signing for Everton was a great moment. I fell in love from day one. Even now, I still support them. I just love the place. I think I played my best football here,” he said.

During his time with the Toffees, Yakubu was a key figure in attack, recording 45 goal contributions in 107 appearances, a testament to his impact and consistency at the club.

Yakubu remains one of the most prolific Nigerian forwards to have played in the English top flight, with his spell at Everton widely regarded as the peak of his career.
