Intl friendlies: Chelle names Ndidi, Iwobi, Lookman among 23-Man squad for Iran and Jordan matches

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named team captain Wilfred Ndidi, midfield maestro Alex Iwobi, and forward Ademola Lookman among 23 players called up for this month’s international friendlies against Iran and Jordan.

The matches, initially set to be played in Amman, Jordan, have now been relocated to Antalya, Turkey, due to the outbreak of military conflict in the Middle East.

The Super Eagles will face Iran on Friday, 27th March, with a 4:00 PM local time kickoff in Antalya, before taking on Jordan on Tuesday, 31st March, with the match set to start at 8:00 PM local time.

 

Chelle’s squad features a mix of home- and Europe-based talent. Italy-based goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defender Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, midfielder Frank Onyeka, and forwards Simon Moses, Samuel Chukwueze, Akor Adams, and Paul Onuachu are included.

 

New call-ups include Scotland-based defender Emmanuel Oluwasegun Fernandez, Germany-based forward Philip Otele, and Belgium’s KRC Genk attacker Collins Yira Sor, a former junior international. Greece-based goalkeeper Adeleye Adebayo returns to the squad.
