Former Nigeria international Henry Nwosu has died after battling illness. He was 62.
The death of the former Super Eagles midfielder was confirmed by his ex-teammate, Segun Odegbami.
According to Odegbami, Nwosu passed away at about 4:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, where he had been receiving treatment since Wednesday.
Odegbami revealed that the former international had spent several days in intensive care before eventually succumbing.
“Henry Nwosu passes on,” Odegbami wrote.
“After five days in hospital battling for his life, the one I call ‘Youngest Millionaire’ passed on at 4:00 a.m. this morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, where he had been in intensive care since Wednesday.”
