Nigeria’s Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has returned to training with his Turkish club, Beşiktaş JK, following the burial of his father.
The experienced midfielder travelled to Nigeria last weekend to attend the funeral rites of his late father, who passed away a few weeks ago.
Ndidi was granted compassionate leave by the club to be with his family during the difficult period.
The former Leicester City FC star was back at the club’s training base on Thursday morning as preparations intensified ahead of the weekend league fixture.
Ndidi’s return is a timely boost for Beşiktaş, who are pushing to maintain momentum in the Turkish topflight.
The 29-year-old has been a key figure in midfield since his arrival, bringing leadership, defensive stability and top-level experience to the squad.
His availability for the upcoming match will be determined by the coaching crew after assessing his fitness levels, but his presence in training signals a positive development for both club and country.
