Egyptian giants FC Pyramids have knocked Nigeria’s Rivers United out of the CAF Champions League following a dominant away performance.
Rivers United took an early lead when Manyo found the back of the net in the 33rd minute, giving the Nigerian side hope of progressing.
However, FC Pyramids responded after the break, with Fathi leveling the score in the 52nd minute before Marwan put the visitors ahead.
Late strikes from Marwan and Nasser sealed a 4-1 victory for the defending Egyptian champions, confirming Rivers United’s elimination from the continental competition.
The result sees FC Pyramids advance to the next round, while Rivers United’s Champions League campaign ends in disappointment.
