Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi opened his goal account for the season as Nottingham Forest secured an impressive 2–0 away victory over Brentford.
The striker, who has endured a frustrating campaign due to recurring injury setbacks, has spent a significant part of the season on the sidelines and on the bench as he worked his way back to full fitness.
Forest took the lead through Igor Jesus before Awoniyi was introduced in the second half to add fresh impetus to the attack.
The Super Eagles forward made an immediate impact, sealing the victory with a fine solo effort to double Forest’s advantage.
Awoniyi’s goal not only confirmed all three points for Nottingham Forest but also marked an important milestone for the Nigerian as he looks to regain momentum and consistency after a difficult start to the season.
