The Super Eagles of Nigeria have recorded an improvement in the latest FIFA ranking released on Monday evening, following their strong showing at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite failing to secure qualification for the next FIFA World Cup, the Nigerian national team impressed on the continental stage, finishing in third place at the tournament.

Their consistent performances throughout the competition have been reflected in the latest global standings, with Nigeria now ranked among the top teams in Africa.

Morocco retained their status as Africa’s highest-ranked team, while newly crowned AFCON champions Senegal moved up to second place on the continent.

Nigeria’s rise sees the Super Eagles occupy third position in Africa, reaffirming their status as one of the continent’s traditional powerhouses.
