2025 AFCON: CAF retains 16 referees for semi-finals and final

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the list of match officials retained to handle the semi-final and final matches of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

A total of 78 officials, including 28 referees, were selected at the start of the tournament, which kicked off on December 21, 2025.

Following an extensive review of performances throughout the competition, CAF has now streamlined the officiating team to 16 referees who will oversee the decisive stages of the tournament.

The retained officials represent a wide spread of African nations, reflecting CAF’s commitment to quality, experience, and neutrality at the business end of the competition.
