The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed the match officials for the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 quarter-final clash between Nigeria and Algeria.

With just 72 hours to the crucial encounter, CAF on Wednesday afternoon confirmed that Somalia’s Omar Artan will serve as the centre referee for the tie.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles booked their place in the quarter-finals in emphatic fashion, recording a convincing 4-0 victory over Mozambique in the round of 16.

Algeria, on the other hand, secured their passage into the last eight after edging past DR Congo 1-0 in a tightly contested fixture.

The heavyweight quarter-final showdown between the Super Eagles and the Desert Foxes is scheduled to take place on Saturday in Marrakech, as both teams continue their quest for continental glory at the AFCON
