Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has played down the on-field argument involving him and Victor Osimhen during Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 clash against Mozambique.
Both players were seen exchanging words during the encounter, a moment that sparked reactions among fans and observers.
However, Lookman has dismissed any suggestion of a rift, insisting the incident had no negative impact on the team.
“I haven’t talked to Victor Osimhen since the game. But what matters is that we won. He is a top player and very important to our team. For me, there is no big issue,” Lookman said.
The Super Eagles went on to record a convincing victory in the match, underlining their attacking strength and unity as they continue their campaign at the tournament.
With the result secured, Lookman’s comments are expected to put to rest concerns about dressing-room harmony, as Nigeria focus on their next challenge in the competition.
