With less than a week to the kickoff of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has expressed strong confidence in Morocco’s readiness to host what is being projected as the most successful edition of the tournament.

Speaking on Tuesday in Rabat during a press conference to outline final preparations, CAF Secretary General Véron Mosengo-Omba described the Morocco 2025 AFCON as exceptional, citing unprecedented levels of enthusiasm, infrastructure, and organization.

“We have never held an AFCON with such enthusiasm,” Mosengo-Omba said, stressing that all indicators point to a record-breaking tournament. According to him, the competition is set to surpass previous editions in terms of attendance, facilities, and overall delivery.

The CAF official revealed that more than one million tickets have already been sold ahead of the opening match, a development he said reflects the growing excitement among football fans across the continent and beyond.

Highlighting Morocco’s preparedness, Mosengo-Omba noted that the tournament will be staged across nine modern stadiums, a first in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations. He added that the infrastructure and operational planning have been designed to ensure optimal conditions for teams, officials, supporters, and media.

With world-class venues, strong logistical planning, and growing fan engagement, CAF believes the 2025 AFCON in Morocco is on course to set new benchmarks for African football and deliver a memorable celebration of the continent’s biggest sporting event.
