Super Eagles forward Gift Orban delivered a match-winning performance as Hellas Verona secured a dramatic 2–1 away victory over Fiorentina in their Italian Serie A encounter on Sunday.

Orban was the standout performer on the night, scoring both goals for Verona in an intense and closely contested fixture. The Nigerian striker opened the scoring three minutes before half-time, calmly finishing to give the visitors a deserved lead heading into the break.

Fiorentina restored parity in the 69th minute after an unfortunate own goal by Unai Núñez, raising hopes of a home comeback. However, Verona remained resolute and were rewarded deep into stoppage time when Orban struck again, firing home the decisive goal to silence the home crowd and seal all three points.

The brace takes Orban’s tally to four goals and one assist in 11 league appearances for the Yellow and Blues this season, underlining his growing influence in Paolo Zanetti’s side.

The crucial victory lifts Hellas Verona from 19th to 18th position on the Serie A table as they continue their fight to move clear of the relegation zone.
