The Uganda Cranes have arrived in Morocco to begin preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which kicks off in two weeks.

A first batch of 17 players landed in Morocco after boarding a Qatar Airways flight, accompanied by Leader of Delegation, Dr. Apollo Ahimbisibwe. The contingent also includes head coach Paul Joseph Put, assistant coach Fred Muhumuza and the full technical crew.

The team has opened an 11-day intensive training camp, which will feature two international friendly matches aimed at fine-tuning the squad ahead of the tournament.

The remaining 13 players, who are currently on club duty abroad, are expected to join the camp directly in Morocco.

Uganda has been drawn in a tough group alongside Nigeria, Tunisia and Tanzania, setting up a challenging test for the Cranes against some of the continent’s strongest sides.
