AFCON 2025: Chelle names Ekong, Osimhen, Nwabali, 52 others in provisional Super Eagles squad

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has released a provisional 55-man squad for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Morocco, with captain William Troost-Ekong, Napoli star Victor Osimhen, Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and in-form goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali topping the list.

Also included are goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defenders Zaidu Sanusi, Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi, midfielders Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi and Raphael Onyedika, along with attacking stars Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon and Chidera Ejuke.

The provisional squad features notable domestic league talents such as Abdulrasheed Shehu, Ebenezer Harcourt, Ekeson Okorie, Chisom Orji and Adekunle Adeleke.

A final list of 28 players is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.

The Super Eagles will open camp in Egypt on Wednesday, 10th December, where they are scheduled to play friendly matches before heading to Morocco for the tournament kickoff on Sunday, 21st December.

Nigeria will compete in Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.
