Spain have maintained their position at the summit of the latest FIFA Men’s World Ranking, with Argentina, France and England also holding firm in second, third and fourth place respectively.
The latest rankings were released following a hectic international window which saw the completion of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying series across UEFA and CONCACAF, as well as decisive play-off matches in CAF and AFC. The intense schedule resulted in notable shifts across the global standings.
Brazil were the biggest movers within the top ten, climbing two places to fifth. Their rise pushed Portugal and the Netherlands down the ladder, with the European giants now occupying sixth and seventh place respectively.
Despite missing out on a ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Nigeria’s Super Eagles recorded a slight improvement, moving up two places in the ranking. The team’s recent performances in friendly matches and competitive fixtures contributed to the upward shift.
Other African teams also recorded changes, with several nations benefiting from strong displays during the qualification playoffs.
The next FIFA ranking update is expected after the upcoming international window scheduled for early 2026.
