The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is eligible to feature in Sunday’s crucial FIFA World Cup playoff clash against DR Congo.
There had been uncertainty surrounding the availability of the Besiktas star after he received a yellow card in the semi-final against Gabon. However, CAF’s latest clarification indicates that accumulated cautions from the World Cup qualifying rounds do not carry over into the playoffs. Only players with confirmed suspensions from previous matches are ineligible.
