Nigeria’s Flamingos secured their place in the Round of 16 at the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco with a commanding 4-0 victory over Samoa in their final Group D match.
Queen Joseph was the star of the day, netting twice to set the tone for Nigeria’s dominant display. She opened the scoring in the 13th minute and doubled the lead in the 28th with a composed finish past the Samoa goalkeeper.
Shakirat Moshood added the third from the penalty spot in the 34th minute, rewarding Nigeria’s relentless attacking pressure. Azeezat Oduntan then sealed the win with a fine strike in the 67th minute to make it 4-0.
The result ensures the Flamingos progress to the knockout stage as one of the four best third-placed teams, edging through on superior goal difference.
