Super Falcons stars Rasheedat Ajibade and Esther Okoronkwo have been shortlisted for the 2025 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.
Both players were instrumental in Nigeria’s impressive campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Okoronkwo contributed two goals and six assists, while team captain Ajibade scored once and provided two assists to help the Super Falcons reach the latter stages of the tournament.
They join eight other contenders on the final list for Africa’s top individual honour in women’s football.
Zambia’s Barbara Banda, who claimed the award last year, will be aiming to defend her crown.
