FIFA Rankings: Spain replaces Argentina on top As Super Eagles move up four places

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on Friday released the latest world rankings, with Spain emerging as the new number one team in the world.

According to the updated standings, the reigning European champions overtook World Cup holders Argentina to claim the top spot, following a string of impressive performances in recent international fixtures.

France, England, and Portugal complete the top five, while traditional heavyweights Brazil, Belgium, and Italy maintain their places among the elite. Germany rounds off the global top ten after a steady improvement in recent months.

On the African continent, Morocco retained their position as the highest-ranked team, continuing their dominance following their historic World Cup and AFCON displays. Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria follow closely behind.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles recorded notable progress, moving up four places to occupy 41st in the world and 5th in Africa, a reflection of their recent strong outings in international competitions.
