The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled a brand-new trophy for the CAF Super Cup ahead of this weekend’s showdown in Cairo.

This year’s edition will see Egyptian side Pyramids FC and Moroccan giants RS Berkane battle for supremacy on Saturday, 18 October, at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.

The new trophy, according to CAF, represents the modernization and growth of African football, combining elegance with a touch of African artistry. It replaces the previous design that has been in use for nearly a decade.

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe emphasized during the unveiling ceremony that the new design symbolizes unity, progress, and the rising standards of the continental game.

> “African football is growing, and this new trophy is a reflection of our ambition and pride in our heritage. It celebrates excellence and the spirit of competition,” Motsepe stated.

Both Pyramids FC, making their debut appearance in the Super Cup, and RS Berkane, two-time CAF Confederation Cup champions, will be aiming to become the first club to lift the newly designed silverware.

The match promises to be a thrilling encounter as the two North African clubs lock horns for continental glory under the lights in Cairo.
