Olympic Update: Spain Edge Super Falcons

Nigeria’s Super Falcons suffered second successive defeat in the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Falcons have aimed to bounce back to the winning ways after their opening day defeat to Brazil.

The game against Spain in Nantes was keenly contested with lanky Asisat Oshoala leading the line for the Nigerian side.

Both sides matched themselves in the first half with the Spaniard dominating the game and their efforts paid off in the 37th minute but VAR rescued Nigeria.

The World champion came out smoking in the second half and they were able pegged back Falcons into their halve

They got the needed goals in the 85th minute to seal the game 1-0 and earned maximum points.

Falcons will have to be at Japan with at least goals to be able to qualify as one of the best losers.
