The Black Stars of Ghana have officially booked their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after edging Comoros 1-0 in a tense qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mohammed Kudus proved to be the match-winner, firing home the decisive goal early in the second half.

After a goalless first half where both sides struggled to create clear chances, Ghana returned from the break with greater urgency.

Just three minutes into the restart, Thomas Partey’s precise through ball found Kudus, who took a deft touch before unleashing a powerful right-footed effort into the top corner.

Comoros put up a spirited fight, keeping Ghana from adding to their tally, but offered little threat going forward.

The Black Stars managed the game efficiently, holding firm in the final minutes to claim the vital win.

With the result, Ghana became the fifth African nation to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup, joining Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.
