Nigeria’s U17 Women’s National Team, the Flamingos, have arrived safely in Morocco ahead of the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
The team, led by head coach Bankole Olowookere, departed Nigeria in the early hours of Wednesday and touched down in Morocco later the same day to begin their final phase of preparations for the global showpiece.
As part of their build-up, the Flamingos will play two international friendly matches against New Zealand on October 10 and Paraguay on October 14 to fine-tune tactics and assess team readiness before the tournament kicks off.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group D of the competition alongside Canada, France, and Samoa, in what promises to be one of the most competitive groups of the tournament.
The Flamingos will be aiming to surpass their previous impressive run at the 2022 edition in India, where they finished third after defeating Germany in the bronze medal match.
