Kelechi Iheanacho was on the scoresheet as Celtic secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Motherwell in their Scottish Premiership clash on Sunday.
The Nigerian forward’s strike helped Brendan Rodgers’ men snap a three-game winless streak and move within two points of second-placed Hearts.
Iheanacho gave the Hoops the lead in the 27th minute, calmly converting from the penalty spot. The goal was his third for the club since joining on a free transfer in the summer.
Motherwell hit back before halftime, with Apostolos Stamatelopoulos levelling the score five minutes before the break. The visitors then went ahead in the 55th minute, as Stamatelopoulos netted his second of the afternoon from another penalty after Tawanda Maswanhise was brought down in the box.
Celtic responded strongly, with Benjamin Nygren making it 2-2 in the 69th minute. The home side continued to press and were rewarded in stoppage time when Daizen Maeda struck the decisive winner to seal all three points for Rodgers’ side.
