Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu continued his fine form in the Turkish Super Lig as he netted his 5th goal of the campaign, helping Trabzonspor secure a thrilling 4-3 away win over Fatih Karagümrük on Saturday.
Trabzonspor got off to a bright start when Felix Da Si opened the scoring, but Cukur quickly leveled for the hosts. Onuachu then restored the visitors’ lead midway through the first half before calmly converting a penalty just before halftime to put his side 3-1 up.
The game looked comfortable when Daylo Sykan extended Trabzonspor’s advantage in the 88th minute, but Fatih Karagümrük mounted a late fightback.
Substitute Datro Fofana struck twice in stoppage time to reduce the deficit, but Trabzonspor held on for all three points.
Onuachu’s brace not only sealed the win but also underlined his importance to Abdullah Avcı’s side as they continue their push at the top end of the table.
