Nigeria international Samuel Kalu has completed a move to Bulgarian topflight side Botev Plovdiv on a free transfer.
The Bulgarian club officially announced the arrival of the skilful winger late on Monday, confirming him as their latest addition ahead of the new league campaign.
Kalu, arrives as a free agent after parting ways with his previous employers. The winger has enjoyed spells across Europe, having previously featured for Slovakian outfit AS Trenčín, Belgian giants KAA Gent, French Ligue 1 side Girondins Bordeaux, as well as English Premier League club Watford.
Renowned for his pace, dribbling skills, and ability to take on defenders, Kalu will be hoping to rediscover his best form in Bulgaria and contribute to Botev Plovdiv’s domestic and continental ambitions.
The Nigerian, who has earned several caps for the Super Eagles since making his debut in 2018, is expected to bring experience and attacking flair to his new side.
Botev Plovdiv, who are aiming to strengthen their squad with quality signings, expressed confidence that Kalu’s addition will boost their push for success in the Bulgarian First League this season.
