In a historic development in Italian football, Claudia Rizzo has been announced as the new president of Serie C side Ternana Calcio.
At just 23 years old, Rizzo becomes one of the youngest and few female presidents in the Italian professional leagues, marking a fresh chapter for the Umbrian club.
According to reports from Italian media, the appointment was ratified over the weekend following a board meeting.
Rizzo, who recently completed a degree in sports management, is said to have impressed the club’s hierarchy with her vision for modernizing operations and engaging the local community.
Speaking after her confirmation, she expressed excitement about the role:
“It’s an incredible honor to lead a club with such history. I’m ready to work hard with our staff, players, and fans to return Ternana to higher levels of Italian football.”
Founded in 1925, Ternana currently competes in Serie C Group B and is targeting promotion back to Serie B. Supporters have welcomed Rizzo’s appointment, describing it as a bold step toward innovation and inclusivity in the game.
