Nigerian international Ademola Lookman has made his long-awaited return to Atalanta, featuring in their emphatic 3-0 Serie A victory over Torino on Sunday.
The 26-year-old winger had been at the centre of transfer speculation during the summer, with reports linking him to a move to Inter Milan.
However, Atalanta opted not to sanction the deal, prompting Lookman to express his displeasure and stay away from the squad for a period.
After holding discussions with the club and resuming full training in recent days, the skilful forward was reinstated to Gian Piero Gasperini’s matchday squad. He played a part as La Dea cruised past Torino, sealing an important away win.
Lookman, who was one of Atalanta’s standout performers last season, will now look to put the saga behind him and focus on helping the Bergamo outfit in their domestic and European campaigns.
