Match day six of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers ended in disappointment for Nigeria’s Super Eagles as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe on Tuesday in Uyo.

The introduction of Genk forward Tolu Arokodare brought a spark to Nigeria’s attack, and it was Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen who eventually broke the deadlock in the 74th minute.

However, Osimhen was forced off due to injury and was replaced by Victor Boniface. Following his exit, Zimbabwe grew into the game and found an equalizer late on through Tahirewa.

The draw leaves Nigeria in fourth place in their qualifying group, trailing South Africa, Rwanda, and Benin.
