Despite sitting at the bottom of the table, Zimbabwe’s head coach, Michael Nees, remains optimistic as his team prepares to face Nigeria in their 2026 World Cup qualifier.
The Warriors will take on the Super Eagles on matchday six at the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Nees, a German tactician, insists that the group remains wide open, with every team still in contention.
“Nobody can predict anything. As an athlete, you must fight until the end because everyone wants fair competition,” Nees told The Standard.
“If you don’t do that, you shouldn’t be playing football. The group is still undecided, with 15 points left to play for. We must take every game seriously,” he added.
