Zimbabwe’s Warriors will be without their captain, Marvelous Nakamba, when they face Nigeria in their sixth World Cup qualifier match.
Nakamba was among the 23 players called up by head coach Michael Nees for the crucial fixture. However, the England-based defender has been ruled out due to injury.
According to The Herald, Nees has named midfielder Richard Hachiro as Nakamba’s replacement. Hachiro, who plays in Zimbabwe’s top flight, received a late call-up before the team departed for South Africa on Sunday.
Initially on standby, Hachiro last featured for the national team a few months ago when Zimbabwe secured qualification for the 2025 AFCON under Nees.
