2026 WCQ: Super Eagles advance party touch down in South Africa

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, and his backroom staff have arrived in Polokwane, South Africa, ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.

The match is scheduled to take place in the South African city on October 10.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the delegation represents the first batch of the Nigerian contingent for the crucial encounter.

The team departed Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 1:30 p.m. aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg.

Upon arrival in Johannesburg, the group proceeded on a four-hour trip to Polokwane, where they are expected to be joined today by the Europe-based players and other officials ahead of full team preparations.
