With the crucial double-header against Rwanda and Zimbabwe on the horizon, Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has expressed confidence in the Super Eagles’ readiness to deliver strong performances.

Nigeria currently sits at the bottom of their World Cup qualifying group after four matches, making victories in both fixtures essential to reignite their hopes of securing a spot at the Mundial.

Speaking to journalist Oluwashina Okeleji, Osimhen emphasized the significance of the upcoming games while assuring fans that the team is prepared.

“You have to give everything; it’s every young footballer’s dream to play at the World Cup,” Osimhen said.

“I am no exception. I want to be there just like my teammates. We’re looking forward to the matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, aiming to correct past mistakes. We will be ready.”

Acknowledging the unpredictability of African football, he added, “It won’t be easy; surprises are common in African football. But we will take each game as it comes.”

Osimhen also spoke about working under the team’s new coach. “I’ve had a couple of conversations with him. I understand his objectives for the team, and I’m looking forward to our first training session to experience his impact firsthand.”
