Coach Eric Chelle has called up KAA Gent defender Jordan Torunarigha as a replacement for the injured Nathan Tella in the Super Eagles squad.
Torunarigha was initially included in the 39-man provisional squad but did not make the final 23 for the qualifiers. However, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Tella ruled out due to injury, the Gent defender has now been drafted in.
The Super Eagles confirmed the update on Thursday, stating:
“Jordan Torunarigha has been called to replace injured Nathan Tella. We wish Nathan a quick recovery.”
The team’s training camp is set to open this weekend in Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of their matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
