Following their emphatic 4-0 victory over the Cheetahs of Benin, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has turned his attention to the upcoming playoff clash in Morocco.
The dominant win saw Nigeria finish second in their group, just behind South Africa, capping off an impressive qualifying campaign under the new coach.
“I’m so proud of my players. They deserved this win. It wasn’t easy coming in with a new philosophy, but they adapted very quickly,” Chelle said after the game.
“Now we move on to Morocco. This is not the end it’s just the beginning. It’s going to be tough, but tonight I’m simply happy for my players. They played an excellent game.”
The coach also expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support. “Thank God, and thank you to the fans they pushed us to this victory,” he added.
“The players gave everything, especially the best striker in the world, Victor Osimhen. Everyone contributed, and they are all champions in my eyes.”
