Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has released his final squad for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against Lesotho and Nigeria.
The matches, set to take place at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, could prove decisive in South Africa’s bid to secure top spot in Group C. On September 5, Bafana will take on Lesotho, who have adopted the venue as their home ground.
Four days later, on September 9, they will host fierce rivals Nigeria at the same stadium.
South Africa currently leads Group C with 13 points from six matches, holding a five-point cushion over Rwanda and Benin, who sit second and third respectively.
Nigeria, meanwhile, lags behind in fourth place with seven points, making the clash against Broos’ side a must-win encounter for the Super Eagles.
Victory in both fixtures could seal South Africa’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
