Chad has pulled out of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers, where they were scheduled to face Senegal in the first round this February.
The Chad Football Federation (FTFA) cited financial constraints as the reason for the withdrawal.
The national women’s team has been inactive for over a year, with their last competitive match in 2023 ending in a 10-0 aggregate defeat to Ethiopia in the Paris Olympic Games African qualifiers.
As a result, Senegal advances to the second round without playing and will now face Ivory Coast in the final qualifying stage.
