The newly appointed coach of Libya, Nasser Al-Hadhiri, has admitted that they are not ready prepared to face Nigeria.
The Mediterranean Knights are to face Super Eagles in doubleheader qualifiers in the 2025 African Cup of Nations.
While speaking to the Libya News 24, the coach rued the absence of some key players and the unavailability of time to prepare the team for the clash.
” We have not yet reached the required readiness to face a strong opponent the size of Nigeria”.
“The team suffers from the absence of several players in the first training sessions, which led to difficulty in imposing a comprehensive tactical vision for the match”.
“This lack of preparation represents an additional obstacle for the team that needs to exert double efforts to achieve a positive result away from home and return with at least a draw point to renew the hopes of qualification”, he said.
The Super Eagles will host the first leg at the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo before the reverse fixture at the Benina Stadium in Libya.
