Nigeria’s Super Eagles booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after a dominant 4-0 victory over Mozambique on Monday night in Fez.
The three-time African champions were in control from the opening exchanges and took a deserved lead in the first half through Ademola Lookman, whose composed finish set the tone for the contest.
Victor Osimhen doubled Nigeria’s advantage before the break, capitalising on sustained pressure to put the Super Eagles firmly in command at half-time.
The Galatasaray striker continued his fine display after the restart, adding Nigeria’s third goal early in the second half to effectively put the game beyond Mozambique.
Osimhen was later withdrawn to a standing ovation, with Moses Simon introduced to freshen up the attack.
Nigeria’s dominance was crowned late in the game when Akor Adams found the back of the net to seal a comprehensive victory and underline the Super Eagles’ attacking prowess.
The emphatic win confirms Nigeria’s progression to the quarter-finals, further strengthening their status as one of the leading contenders for the AFCON 2025 title.
