The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Laryea to take charge of the semi-final clash between Nigeria and Morocco at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 39-year-old, widely regarded as one of Africa’s top match officials, will be handling his second fixture of the tournament.

He previously officiated the Group stage encounter between Algeria and Burkina Faso as centre referee.

Laryea also led the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team during the quarter-final match between Morocco and Cameroon.

He will be assisted by South Africa’s Zakhele Siwela and Lesotho’s Souru Phatsoane as first and second assistant referees respectively, while Rwanda’s Samuel Uwikunda has been named as the fourth official.

Veteran South African referee Abongile Tom will oversee VAR duties for the high-profile semi-final showdown.
