Algeria have secured qualification for the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Desert Foxes booked their place in the knockout stage following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Burkina Faso in their second group match.
Captain Riyad Mahrez scored the decisive goal in the first half, calmly converting from the penalty spot to hand Algeria maximum points from the encounter.
Prior to the clash, Algeria had made a strong statement in their opening fixture with a convincing 3-0 win over Sudan, putting them in a commanding position in the group.
The latest victory ensures that the North Africans join Nigeria and Egypt as teams already confirmed for the round of 16, with one group match still to play.
